Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 6, 2025

Who we are

National Academy of Leadership Development (“National ALD”). Our website is nationalald.com, which provides information about our leadership development programs and the Priceless! book, and invites potential faculty to get involved. The homepage currently includes an interest/contact form (first name, last name, email, and a message field).

Scope

This Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information on:

  1. nationalald.com (the “Site”);

  2. the Amazon link to purchase Priceless! (that purchase occurs on Amazon, not on our Site); and

  3. the Faculty Portal, which is powered by LearnStream by iLX Studios and subject to iLX Studios’ privacy policy for the portal environment.

Quick summary (at a glance)

  • We collect contact details you submit on the Site (e.g., through the “Stay Connected” form), limited analytics/technical data, and—if you apply to join our faculty—application and credential information you choose to provide.

  • We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

  • When you click the book link, Amazon controls that purchase experience under its own Privacy Notice.

  • The Faculty Portal is delivered by LearnStream by iLX Studios; iLX Studios processes account and usage data to provide the portal services and publishes its own privacy policy.

  • If you’re in the EU/UK, GDPR rights apply; if you’re in California, CCPA/CPRA rights apply (including honoring Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals).

  • You can contact us at [privacy@nationalald.com] (or by mail at [Postal address]) to exercise your rights.

1) Information we collect

A. Information you provide directly

  • Contact / interest forms. Name, email, and the content of your message (e.g., the “Stay Connected” form on the Site).

  • Faculty recruitment. If you express interest in joining our international faculty, we may collect details such as CV/resume, professional bio, country/region, language(s), topical expertise, certifications, references, and links to professional profiles.

  • Faculty Portal (LearnStream). When you log into the portal, LearnStream/iLX Studios collects account identifiers (e.g., name, email) and usage data necessary to provision courses, track progress, and administer certification.

B. Information collected automatically

  • Device/usage data. IP address, browser type/version, pages viewed, time on site, and similar diagnostic information collected via cookies and similar technologies.

  • Cookies & similar tech. We use necessary cookies to operate the Site and may use analytics to understand website performance and improve content. If we introduce additional categories (e.g., advertising cookies), we will update this Policy and, where required, request consent.

C. Sensitive information

We do not seek to collect sensitive personal data via the Site. If a specific role or jurisdiction requires additional vetting (e.g., background screening) we will provide separate notice and obtain any required consent.

2) How we use your information

  • To communicate with you. Respond to inquiries, send updates about workshops, certification, and faculty opportunities.

  • Faculty recruitment & administration. Evaluate applications, verify credentials, coordinate onboarding, deliver certification, and manage ongoing faculty relationships.

  • Faculty Portal delivery. Enable access to certification content hosted on LearnStream; track completion and performance; provide support.

  • Improve our services. Diagnose problems, analyze usage, and enhance Site content and usability.

  • Legal & security. Detect, prevent, and address security or technical issues; comply with legal obligations

Legal bases (EU/UK users)

Where GDPR applies, we rely on one or more of: consent, contract, legitimate interests (e.g., site security, service improvement), and legal obligations.

1) How we share information

We share personal information only as needed to operate the Site, run our programs, or comply with law:

  • Service providers (processors). Web hosting, analytics, email delivery, and similar vendors who process data under our instructions.

  • LearnStream by iLX Studios (Faculty Portal). iLX Studios provides the Faculty Portal platform and processes account and usage data to deliver training/certification; see iLX Studios’ Privacy Policy for details specific to its platform.

  • Book purchase on Amazon. If you click our “Buy on Amazon” link, Amazon collects personal information on its own site subject to Amazon’s Privacy Notice. We do not receive your payment card data from Amazon.

  • Legal, safety, and corporate events. We may disclose information to comply with law or protect rights and safety.

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

2) International data transfers

We operate in the United States. If you access the Site or Portal from outside the U.S., your data may be processed in the U.S. and other countries that may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) for cross-border transfers.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described or as required by law. As guidance:

  • General inquiries/newsletter: up to 24 months from your last interaction (unless you opt out sooner).

  • Unsuccessful faculty applicants: up to 24 months after decision for recordkeeping/opportunity reconsideration (unless you request deletion sooner).

  • Active faculty records: for the duration of the relationship plus a reasonable period (e.g., 7 years) for compliance and bookkeeping.

  • Portal learning records: while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to demonstrate training/certification history.

  • Analytics data: typically 14–26 months, depending on the provider’s configuration.

6) Your privacy choices & rights

Email preferences

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email or by contacting us.

Cookies & signals

  • Cookie controls. You can manage cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, a cookie banner on our Site.

  • Global Privacy Control (California). Where applicable, we recognize Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as opt-out requests under California law.

  • Do Not Track (DNT). Because DNT is not a standardized signal, our Site may not respond to DNT; we prioritize GPC where required.

Rights by region

  • EU/UK (GDPR). You may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and to object to processing, as well as the right to withdraw consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

  • California (CCPA/CPRA). California residents may have the rights to know/access, correct, delete, and opt-out of sale/sharing of personal information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. California regulators administer and enforce these laws. We honor GPC signals as required.

  • Other U.S. states. Several states have enacted privacy laws with similar rights. Where such laws apply to us, we will facilitate your requests consistent with those requirements.

How to exercise your rights

Email [privacy@nationalald.com] with the subject “Privacy Request,” and tell us (a) what you’re requesting, (b) your region of residence, and (c) the email you used on our Site/Portal. We may ask for reasonable information to verify your identity and will respond within the timeframes required by law.

1) Children’s privacy

Our Site and programs are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can delete it.

2) Security

We employ reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed 100% secure.

3) Third-party services & links

Our Site contains links to third-party sites and services that we do not control (for example, Amazon for book purchases and LearnStream for the Faculty Portal). Their privacy practices govern your interactions with them:

  • Amazon Privacy Notice (for purchases and Amazon services).

  • iLX Studios Privacy Policy (applies to the LearnStream portal environment).

Optional affiliate disclosure: If your Amazon link uses an affiliate/associate program, insert: “We may earn a commission from qualifying purchases. This doesn’t affect the price you pay.”

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and change the “Effective date” above. Material changes will be highlighted or otherwise communicated where required.
