Bio: Billie J. McConnell, Ed.D., is a leadership development consultant, educator, facilitator, and speaker who helps leaders strengthen culture, navigate change, build effective teams, and create learning experiences that translate into meaningful performance. His career spans corporate leadership development, higher education, K–12 administration, consulting, instructional design, and educational technology, giving him a distinctive ability to connect leadership principles with practical organizational needs. Most recently, Billie led Leadership and Cultural Development for WellMed Medical Management’s Optum Southwest Region, where he rebuilt the function, developed and facilitated leadership and team development programs, led a year-long Leadership Skills Academy for clinic administrators, and delivered learning on servant leadership, trust, emotional intelligence, communication, difficult conversations, change, and multigenerational teams. His extensive academic career includes faculty and leadership roles with Liberty University, Oklahoma Christian University, Abilene Christian University, and other institutions, where he has taught graduate and doctoral students in organizational leadership, instructional design, technology, and change. Billie has also served as a Head of School, university department chair, consultant, and professional learning leader, and has presented at numerous national and regional conferences.
